Minnesota TEMPTED Tour Stop

As many of you know, I went to the TEMPTED tour stop last night at the Mall of America. Here is my summary (including pics).

I got to the Mall of America at about 5:20 with the signing beginning at 6:00. I was pleased to find out that they would sign more than one book, as long as one of those books was TEMPTED. I brought a copy of MARKED along, and got it signed as well (and that will be a prize in an upcoming contest). I had a blast talking to fellow HoN series fans about the series and our site. :) With contest winners' work in hands, Proudly_Marked, Erik_Night and I waited for the signing to begin.

At 6:00, PC & Kristin took the stage and did a brief Q & A before signing. Here's some interesting things that I learned:

We all know that the rights to the movie have been optioned and a screenwriter has been hired. What PC disclosed was that she spoke with the screenwriter two days before the signing, and found that the script for the first movie will be done in two weeks! Exciting, huh?
When PC first pitched the idea for the series to her publishers, they initially wanted her to write it as an adult book (like PC's previously published adult books) and have the House of Night be a university
While reading TEMPTED, you will notice that the parts in Zoey's point-of-view (as always) are very first person, the sections from other points-of-view are written in the third person. They stated that this is because it is less constraining to write in the third person, and the only person we will ever see in the first person will be Zoey. (This was my question, and PC complimented me for noticing the different points-of-view (and my english teacher for teaching is to me) XD )
Most of the characters in the books are based on people they know. There is a real Damien, Jack, Erin, Shaunee and Dragon. The man that Dragon is based on sometimes comes to signings with full Marks! PC pictures Tom Welling when she writes Erik (but don't start any rumors, remember she has nothing to do with casting the movie). In fact, they had just gotten a text message from "Jack" that day telling them that they looked hot on a TV interview. They say "Jack" always signs his texts "LOTR 4ever." Awesome! If you live in the Tulsa area, some of these people will be at the launch party.
Now, to address the new actors in the most recent promo shots. For the original pictures, PC & Kristin let the people who the characters are based on pic the models. The publisher decided that they wanted to change things up for TEMPTED and now have new models for Heath and Stark. PC & Kristin had nothing to do with the switchup, and didn't know about it until you all did. It was funny because they addressed the new Stark's hair. Kristin called it an emo cut, and PC said that the boy needed to cut his hair because it drives her nuts that its over his eyes.

Then it was time for the signing. When I got to the table, I handed them the TEMPTED Art Contest winners. They thought they were amazing and thanked me many times. I included a note with each of the gifts. It thanked them for writing such a great series, told them about the site (and all the amazing people on the forum), and had the names, cities and email addresses for all of the contest winners.

I then told them that I stayed up until 3 am that morning finishing TEMPTED. As PC made reference to how she felt while writing the book, I asked her to hold me...lol (this picture is below). She told me everything was going to be okay as she stoked my head :)

Then, I think PC was excited to talk to a fan who had finished TEMPTED, because she told me what the first chapter of BURNED is going to be...

Then I gave her one more hug, and walked away with two signed books and a wonderful memory.
